Tony Romo may play for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL‘s next installment of football in London, but the decision appears to be up to owner Jerry Jones.
The Dallas Cowboys are hoping that franchise quarterback Tony Romo will be able to play this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, but the decision doesn’t appear to be up to the coaching staff or Romo himself. According to a report from Ed Werder of ESPN, the Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones will be making the call on whether or not his quarterback is able to play on Sunday.

Jones has been infamous for being a problem for the Cowboys’ franchise, and tries to take too much of a role with the team. It doesn’t seem right that the owner would be making the call on if a player will play or not, especially when the coaching and medical staff are the ones working with him and know best whether or not he can go.
Romo has dealt with chronic back issues throughout his career, and is dealing with two small fractures in his back.
Based on latest quotes from London, it seems the decision on whether Tony Romo plays belongs to the owner, not player or HC

Needless to say, the Cowboys are in a mess following their second straight loss but are still sitting at 6-3 on the season. They have a legitimate chance to make the playoffs this season, but they need their quarterback on the field. Jones shouldn’t be trying to get involved with decisions like these in important situations like their game against Jacksonville is becoming.
All of that being said, it’s just another weird twist in the management of the Cowboys. Jones has done so many things like this throughout his career that it’s hard to be surprised when strange news comes out of Dallas. Romo looks like he’ll likely suit up and play on Sunday, but the final decision appears to be up to the owner.
