Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo practiced on Thursday in London for the first time since he injured his back on Monday Night Football against the Washington Redskins.

The Dallas Cowboys got some great news on Thursday as starting quarterback Tony Romo was finally able to participate in practice as the team prepares to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London. Barring any setbacks, it appears Romo will be ready to start the team’s last game before their Week 11 bye week.

As you can see from Jerry’s quote there, the team’s thinking is in line with the public’s expectations. Romo missed the team’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals and it was widely rumored he could miss their next game in London, given that the following week was a bye. Skipping the Jaguars game would give Romo nearly a month to recover from his back injury.

That doesn’t appear to be the plan though as Romo practicing clearly means the team plans to play him. Otherwise, why put undue stress on the injury?

The ineffective play of backup Brandon Weeden could have forced the hand of the Cowboys coaching staff. The team mustered very little on offense under Weeden and with the ‘Boys jockeying with the Philadelphia Eagles for NFC East supremacy and potentially even a first round bye in the NFL playoffs, Jason Garrett and company likely don’t want to take any more chances, even against an inferior opponent like Jacksonville.
