Average Cost Of An NHL Game By Team 2014
A chart for the average cost of an NHL game by team for a fan was released yesterday and it sure would be nice to be a hockey team in Florida.
The National Post released a chart showing what the average cost of attendance is for a fan per NHL team. The Toronto Maple Leafs lead the chart at $137.47 and the Dallas Stars are last in the NHL at $61.28 in a tight race with the Florida Panthers. The cost includes the average ticket, one small draft beer, one soda, one hot dog and half the price of parking.

The chart can be seen here.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are the most expensive NHL team to watch live even though their cost has gone down from $151.41 last season as their average ticket price has fallen from $124.69 to $113.66. The Maple Leafs lead the NHL in game costs despite only being to the playoffs once in their last nine season. The Leafs are one of the most successful NHL franchises in history with 13 Stanley Cup Championships with thirteen, second to the Montreal Canadians.
What may be more interesting than the Leafs leading the NHL in game cost, is the fact that the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers are third and second to last for game cost, making the state of Florida quite affordable in regards to hockey. The Florida Panthers are dead last in the NHL in attendance average with 9,048 fans per game and have only had a total of 36,195 fans at games this year, almost 30,000 less than the New York Islanders at second to last with 65,542. So if you’re looking for cheap, affordable NHL hockey, I would look to moving to Tampa Bay or Sunrise, Florida.
