Bungie Surprises Brain Surgery Patient In Destiny

Bungie has over 9.5 million gamers playing Destiny, but thanks to the kindness of a community manager, one had his day made.

Video games are often seen as the way of the nerds and viewed as being played by people who live in their parents basements. While that may be true at times, something to remember is that people are always people and heartwarming stories can come in all situations and to all walks of life. Bungie wanted to provide us a reminder through their new title Destiny.

On Reddit, a user, “Bkbunny87,” posted that her husband was playing Bungie’s game Destiny as an escape and form of physical and mental therapy. Bungie saw her story and community manager from Bungie, DeeJ, made their day:

"“Deej contacted me and has sent my husband a care package from Bungie that is on the way. Then this morning, a message from Deej told us to have my husband check with Tess the Post Master in the tower. Lots of screaming ensued. He has been sent the exotic gun Fate Of All Fools, a solar primary that looks like it will be available in future content.Vision of Confluence had been my husbands dream weapon, as scout is his favorite and he wanted that solar damage. A more perfect weapon could not have been chosen. I’m so jealous, but mostly so damn happy for him. As for him– well, you can imagine 🙂Thank you guys for being such a caring community. Thank you Deej and the crew at Bungie, you’ve made him ecstatic.”"

As of her posting, her husband currently owns the only Fate Of All Fools in Destiny. On top of that, DeeJ has shown us that a small and simple gesture can go such a long ways.

Hopefully Bkbunny87’s husband continues to have a speedy recovery, and this gesture reminds us all that a little nice can go a long ways.
