Chicago Bulls Remain In Contact With Ray Allen

The future of Ray Allen remains undecided but the Chicago Bulls are keeping their finger on the pulse of that situation just in case.

When it was decided that LeBron James was returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason, many assumed that Ray Allen was going to follow him there and play out his final season in the NBA in Ohio. That has not happened yet and doesn’t look like it will happen anytime soon, especially with Cleveland struggling at 1-3.

Cleveland wasn’t the only team that Ray Allen was linked to though, as the Chicago Bulls were keeping an eye on his situation as well. The only difference between the Bulls and Cavs is that Chicago is winning, making them look like a better destination for Allen this year. According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, the Bulls remain in contact with Ray Allen and look to be in the running to sign him.

All of this is contingent on Allen actually wanting to return for a 19th season in the NBA, which he so far hasn’t done. We’re only a few weeks into the season and there hasn’t been as much as a peep out of the Ray Allen camp. In fact, some people even forgot that there was drama about him coming back this season, as the NBA season is off to a fast start.

But the Bulls have an eye on Allen, and he likely has an eye on them too. It would be a perfect fit if it happened, but so far Ray Allen seems content with sitting out and may not make a decision until Christmas — if at all.
