The New York Giants schedule doesn’t get any easier as they prepare to face the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in noisy CenturyLink Field on Sunday. The Giants are 3-5, and despite having a three-game win streak in the first part of the season, they are now on a three-game losing streak and very little seems to be working out for them. Nevertheless, quarterback Eli Manning seems to be improving on the interception front and his deep balls are much sharper.
Will the Giants test the Seahawks secondary with deep shots on Sunday? Absolutely.
"“You don’t ever go into a game scared. You go in and trust your plan and trust your preparation,” Giants offensive coordinator Brian McAdoo said in a story by Conor Orr for NFL.com."
McAdoo said the team won’t do anything different from what they do in practice the week of the game. They expect to go out and execute against Seattle or any other team.
Unfortunately for the Giants, they don’t have a lot of weapons and the Seahawks secondary may not have many weaknesses. If they start taking deep shots just to take them, the interception-hungry Legion of Boom could make them pay rather quickly.
The Seahawks have had their own struggles moving the ball and defending this season. They allowed only 125 points through eight games last year and they’ve allowed 174 so far through eight games this year. The Seahawks are 5-3 and sit at second in the NFC West.
