We’re used to Adult Swim on Cartoon Network showing funny but usually extremely odd shows.

After all, they’ve brought us Sea Lab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, The Eric Andre Show, Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job and Check It Out! With Dr. Steve Brule, among many other shows.

Recently, they have branched out into specials. One of the first forays out into other programming involved Adam Scott. He and his wife Naomi created The Greatest Event In Television History. In these specials (there have now been four), Scott and other actors re-make the opening credits to 80’s television shows. They’ve done Simon & Simon (John Hamm), Hart to Hart (Amy Poehler), Too Close For Comfort (Catherine O’Hara, Chelsea Peretti, Kathryn Hahn) and Bosom Buddies (Paul Ruud)

On Thursday (well, 4:00 am ET Friday), Adult Swim wet in a new direction. During the hours where infomercials would normally air, Adult Swim aired Too Many Cooks. Too Many Cooks started as a parody of 80’s and 90’s television show openings and soon turned into a story of lust, murder and a coat that’s alive.

It was created by Casper Kelly, who has been involved in several other Adult Swim shows.
