New Boston Celtics jerseys create outrage

Another team bites the dust…and they were the greatest of us. The Boston Celtics, one of the NBA’s most storied franchises, has fallen. They released a new set of sleeved jerseys today and took away what makes them the Celtics. It’s not green, it’s not white, it’s gray. A boring, dull, generic, gray.

Forget the sleeves, that’s a thing the NBA is gonna keep pushing and some people actually like sleeved jerseys, I’m not one of them, but they don’t fill me with disgust. What does fill me with disgust is this color. Why gray? The Celtics do not wear gray, they only wear green and white. Boston was supposed to be the final holdout of not changing what isn’t broken. While the Lakers betrayed themselves, adding colors other than the gold and purple, the Celtics were green and white. Even when they added colors to the green and white like black or gold, they always had green and white dominating the jersey itself. When they aren’t wearing that classic combo, it’s not really the Celtics. They’re just NBA team A taking on NBA team B. It feels like every team in the NBA has a gray jersey these days, it’s not unique, it’s generic and boring.

Don’t just take it from me, these jerseys are pretty hated.

This tweet describes it best.
