Don’t worry, Oakland Raiders fans. It appears that the Raiders will not be relocating to San Antonio, despite some initial interest in the move.

There had been some discussion about the Oakland Raiders potentially becoming the third team in the great state of Texas with a relocation to San Antonio, but it appears that those talks are now dead.

Jason Cole of Bleacher Report passed along the news, citing three NFL sources who believe the team will either remain in Oakland or move to Los Angeles.

Despite the latest report, the Raiders will meet on Friday with San Antonio mayor Henry Cisneros.

As Cole indicates, Davis is likely just using the meeting in order to gain leverage on a potential new stadium site back in California.

The Oakland Raiders’ current lease at O.co Coliseum expires at the end of the season, so the pressure is building for the franchise and owner Mark Davis to get a new plan in place.

If the Raiders were to relocate back to Los Angeles, it would be the city’s first NFL franchise since the Raiders and St. Louis Rams left following the 1994 season.
