The Auburn Tigers and the Texas A&M Aggies are currently doing battle inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, and the Tigers may have suffered a devastating loss early in this one in the form of an injury to dynamic junior wide receiver Duke Williams.
Williams was injured on a play in the second quarter with the Aggies down 21-14 at the time. The junior made the catch and then was hit low on the legs.
You can watch a video of the hit and injury here:
You can see that Williams immediately felt the pain and the ball came loose. This is the dangers of going low on a player, but with someone that make plays happen like he can, that’s really the only way to bring him down, and that’s to stop him before he gets started.
On the season this year, Williams has tallied 598 yards on 37 catches with five touchdowns. He’s one of the more versatile players on this Auburn offense that thrives off of players like him.
As more information becomes available about the condition of Williams we will keep you updated accordingly. As of now, he’s on the training table with ice on the knee.
