Leafs Recall Josh Leivo From Marlies
The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled forward Josh Leivo from the Toronto Marlies for Saturday night’s game
He may have gotten his first NHL career goal last season, but forward Josh Leivo is ready to come back and make an impact on the Toronto team.

The Maple Leafs have been dealt a fairly bad hand to start out November. The team is out the services of alternate captain Joffrey Lupul (broken hand), in addition to forwards Brandon Kozun (ankle) and David Booth (foot); after the team’s game against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, you might as well add Daniel Winnik to that list.
The final straw for the Leafs was the suspension of forward Carter Ashton for violating the league’s Substance Abuse Program, as he will miss twenty games with the team. It wasn’t long after this news broke that the team announced they would be calling up Leivo from the AHL affilliate, the Toronto Marlies.
Leivo played in seven games with the Leafs last season, taking home a goal and an assist to the AHL to start off this year. He was originally projected to make the Leafs roster out of training camp, but was dealing with a lower body injury and was unable to remain with the team.
For the Marlies this season, Leivo has one goal and three assists in his first eight games. He makes the Leafs roster reach 22 once more.
