The Michigan Wolverines and Florida Gators will more than likely be looking for a new head coaches when this season concludes, and apparently a prominent name in the NFL world might want to help either one of them out with that.
According to a report from Wolverines 247, former Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has some interest in making the move to either Ann Arbor or Gainesville to become a head coach at the collegiate level.
This from Wolverines 247:
"Sources close to the situation have told Wolverine247 that former Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan would be interested in returning to college football for either the Wolverines or Florida Gators job if they were to open."
Well this is a bit unexpected, but not really all that surprising. These are two jobs that could pay a lot of money, with Michigan more than likely really willing to break the bank to bring a prominent name in.
Shanahan’s last job was with the Redskins where he was fired following last season amid a poor season and a reported rift with his star quarterback, Robert Griffin III.
While Shanahan has never been a head coach at the collegiate level, he did serve as an assistant for nine years, including a stint from 1980-83 as an offensive assistant with the Gators.
