After years of disappointment, Sacramento Kings fans have learned to savor every win.

More from NBA

The Sacramento Kings have been one of the worst teams in the NBA for years now, but this season the team is off to a 5-1 start.

DeMarcus Cousins, fresh off his experience with Team USA basketball, is more dominant than ever. Rudy Gay is having one of his most efficient seasons of his career and Darren Collison–tasked with replacing Isaiah Thomas–is playing out of his mind. In the NBA, only Houston (6-0) and Memphis (6-0) have better records.

Kings fans are certainly basking in the glory of their hot start. Read any Kings message board or comment section and you’ll get a sense of the excitement and hope. During one watch party in the state capital of California, Kings fans went nuts after a thrilling win over the Phoenix Suns.

Check out the video on the King’s Facebook page.

After watching this video you may have thought the Kings just won the NBA Finals. But it’s just a win over the Phoenix Suns in the sixth game of the regular season.

I’ll say this, if you’ve ever been to a [good] watch party you know that fans can get a bit mobby in their excitement. I mean, you don’t cheer when you are drinking craft beer and wearing sweat pants while watching the game alone in your apartment, do you? Also, they are at the bar. Bars make people rowdy. That’s science.

More so, take a look at what Kings fans have been dealing with. First of all, they have the most painfully obviously fixed game in the history of the NBA in their review mirror. They haven’t finished a season with a winning record since the 2005-06 season. Tyreke Evans peaked when he won Rookie of the Year and was a disappointment ever since. Keith Smart coached the team for a year-and-a-half. So did Reggie Theus. And since their last winning season, they’ve seen the Lakers win two championships, the Warriors strike gold with Stephen Curry AND Klay Thompson (even leading them to hire former Warriors assistant Mike Malone and draft their own three-point shooting white guy in Nik Stauskas) and the emergence of the Clippers–the team they were always at least better than.

So bask in the glory of Boogie and Co., Kings fans. You freaking deserve it.
