Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash explains his injury to fans in a Facebook statement
Steve Nash’s time in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform has been fruitless to say the least. His time has been marred by injury, including this season, which he is going to miss because of his back. His time in the NBA may be coming to an end soon. He went on Facebook Friday to explain what he is going through.

Not many players would go through the trouble of any explanation as to what is going on, however as Nash puts it at the beginning of his statement, he didn’t want to be a distraction and clearly he feels he is one as the Lakers still search for their first victory of 2014.
"I definitely don’t want to be a distraction, but I felt it best everyone heard from me in my own words"
He has clearly heard the rumblings. He knows fans are wondering why he is out of action yet once again and knows Lakers fans are disappointed. The Lakers have started off 0-5 with not a lot of hope for the near future.
"I understand why some fans are disappointed. I haven’t been able to play a lot of games or at the level we all wanted. Unfortunately that’s a part of pro sports that happens every year on every team. I wish desperately it was different. I want to play more than anything in the world. I’ve lost an incredible amount of sleep over this disappointment."
The eight-time all-star and two-time Most Valuable Player is in his third season with the Lakers. He didn’t mention anything about retirement in his statement, however it is clear his back may not allow him to play any further in the sport.
"This may be hard for people to understand unless you’ve played NBA basketball, but there is an incredible difference between this game and swinging a golf club, hiking, even hitting a tennis ball or playing basketball at the park"
So there it is. He left the Facebook post open for comments. Check it out and add your two cents for what it’s worth.
