The Boston Bruins have announced that yet another blue liner will miss multiple weeks of play

The Boston Bruins blue liners are all dropping like flies.

More from Boston Bruins

It started with captain Zdeno Chara, who went down with a knee injury against the New York Islanders last month. Before long, Torey Krug was out with a broken (although that’s a questionable word for it) finger, and then Kevan Miller joined them on the injury list just days later.

Now, David Warsofsky makes number four who will not dress for games.

According the the Bruins official website, Warsofsky will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a groin injury. Although the press release did not specify how, the team did disclose that the injury occurred on Thursday, during the Bruins’ 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Lucky for the Bruins, it seems that Krug may be able to rejoin the lineup earlier than anticipated; in a report Sunday afternoon, the defenseman suggested that he hopes to be in the lineup for Monday’s game against the New Jersey Devils. There seems to be no such reassurance for the team regarding their captain, though, or Miller.

The Bruins have won their last four contests despite losing what seems to be a defenseman per game, but the team can only sustain so many hits to the roster before they start to suffer. Just take a look at the Columbus Blue Jackets– they’re on a downward spiral to rival that of the Carolina Hurricanes, a la October. Boston cannot afford this.
