Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug is looking to rejoin the lineup as early as Monday
The Boston Bruins need all the blue line help they can get.

The team has won their last four contests despite having a depleted defensive roster, but their good luck can only hang on for so long. With captain Zdeno Chara starting a trend of fallen blue-liners (Torey Krug, Kevan Miller, and Dave Warsofsky are all on injured reserve as well), the team was having to grasp at straws to defend home ice.
Good news for the Boston squad, though- Krug participated in practice on Sunday, and hopes to be back in the lineup by Monday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils.
Per NBC’s Pro Hockey Talk, Krug said that the decision won’t be on him alone- the Bruins’ front office and coaching staff will be as part of the choice to play him as his own opinion. He sounded enthusiastic, though, and hopeful that he would be able to skate out with the rest of the team at TD Garden.
Should Krug be unable to play, it’s likely that the team would finally take Matt Bartkowski off the scratch list; he has been a healthy scratch for the past four games, as he tries to pull himself out of a slump. Head coach Claude Julien said that Bartkowski still has a positive attitude and works hard in practice, but the coach isn’t confident that he’s righted his play yet.
