Watson talked out his joy of the miracle bunker shot in his post-win interview.
”You always joke about holing it,” Watson said. ”And then it actually went in. I didn’t know how to react and so I just kind of screamed, and I lost my voice a little bit. It was one of those shots, a one-in-a-lifetime kind of shot. And so it was pretty neat.”
Bubba Watson is now the 14th player to win a major PGA Tour tournament and a World Golf Championship event and with the win, he is now the third-ranked golfer in the world, the highest ranking American. It was his seventh career PGA Tour win, and he is now fourth in the FedEx Cup rankings, setting him up nicely for the rest of the season.
