The Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars, two NFL teams playing this week in London, will wear special uniforms adorned with poppies in honor of Britan’s Remembrance Sunday.
The NFL London experiment will give the United Kingdom a taste of NFL action, but Americans will also get a taste of British culture today as well. The NFL joined up with the Royal British Legion to mark Remembrance Sunday, and a symbol of the holiday is the poppy, which honors the war deaths of the United Kingdom. Poppies will adorn the helmets and jerseys of both teams today:

Jacksonville will be the “home” team today across the pond, and their special jerseys and helmets can be seen here. After the game, 8,000 poppies will be dropped into the stands to honor the sacrifice of those who have given their lives for Britain, and in addition to the poppies, the jerseys will be auctioned off for charity after the game.
This is the third time the NFL has played a regular-season game across the Atlantic Ocean in the United Kingdom this season. The league plans to do three more London games in 2015 as well, but this is the last time this season anyone will need to take a trans-Atlantic flight for a game.
