Los Angeles hasn’t had an NFL team in 20 years, but that could change as three teams have had discussions about relocating in the near future.
The NFL has been desperate to get a team back into one of America’s largest markets for years now and it appears that the wheels are turning to finally make that happen. After the Los Angeles Rams packed up and moved to St. Louis in 1994, Los Angeles has been a community without an NFL team and that’s about to change.

According to CBS NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, Ingelwood Mayor James Butts has talked to as many as three NFL teams about relocating to the Inglewood and Los Angeles area within the next few years.
"Butts, reached via email this weekend, declined to confirm whether that meeting with Kroenke took place, but wrote that he has discussed possible relocation with “three NFL owners” over “the past three years.”"
So far, the St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders — both of whom played in Los Angeles together in the late 80s and early 90s — are among the teams talking about moving back to the area. The third team remains unidentified but it’s assumed that it could be either the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Buffalo Bills.
Both the Jaguars and Buccaneers make sense as teams who could move, as their owners want large market teams in small markets they currently play in which is a bit of a problem. Moving the teams to Los Angeles would generate instant attention in the largest market in America, thus boosting everything from team exposure to merchandise.
It’s unclear who would move but someone will be taking off to Los Angeles in the next few years as the wheels are n doubt turning.
