Here’s this week’s submission of “artists doing remixes you didn’t ask for to songs you didn’t like in the first place.”
Hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco, who’s proudly from Chicago, has
up with the band Fall Out Boy to remix “Only The Bulls” and bring you, well, this gem celebrating the Chicago Bulls:
Ok, so that Lupe loves his home town isn’t a surprise, he made that pretty clear on The Cool’s “Go-Go Gadget Flow,” and other songs. Fall Out Boy also originated in Illinois, so presumably that’s why they were interested in this collaboration. It’s a remix of a cheesy sports song, but it’s doubtful fans of either artist will be rushing to add “Only The Bulls” to their favorite playlists.
Still, there have been far, far FAR worse sports songs, and even though I doubt Fall Out Boy or Lupe will rush to show off this collaboration, it could be so much worse. Its hard to hate anything Fiasco is involved in, and even “Only The Bulls” has some entertaining, catchy, loops, but it gets old rather quickly. Bulls fans, enjoy it, everyone else can give it a listen and move on with their lives.
