New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault was displeased with the officiating Saturday night
Although the New York Rangers came extremely close to triumphing over the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night, four goals weren’t enough to take home a win.

Both teams sit in the middle of the pack in the NHL standings at the moment, with the Leafs sitting at a 7-5-2 record and the Rangers at a 6-5-2. Saturday night’s game determined who broke into the top eight in the East- and it went to Toronto.
During the post-game media interview, though, Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault expressed his displeasure with the way the calls were made by the game’s officials.
"“A couple, in my opinion, questionable calls there, and they got momentum off it,” Vigneault said of the officiating, as per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News."
The game was extremely back-and-forth from the start, with the Maple Leafs losing their early lead halfway through the game and gaining it back at the very end.
The Rangers will have a chance to turn things around, though, as they host the Edmonton Oilers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. The Oilers have a 5-8-1 record to start off the season, only winning one of their last six games (against the Buffalo Sabres, who are dead last in the league).
