Earlier on Sunday morning, amid reports that Peterson would be reinstated soon, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that there was dissension in the Vikings organization about letting the running back return to the team. While fans and players want to welcome him back with open arms, Rapoport states that some in the Vikings organization don’t want him back.
According to Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk, there is apparently no internal dispute over whether or not Adrian Peterson is welcome back on the Vikings roster.
"The source contends that the organization is “100 percent unified” on Peterson. “There has been no rift internally at all.”The question now becomes whether Rapoport, who works for a media company partially owned by the Vikings, will back track or double down."
The shot at Rapoport because he works for a league owned network is a little cheap but it’s worth mentioning that the NFL is currently debating suspending Peterson for his actions. To his credit though, Rapoport reported that a December return date for Peterson is likely but as far as in-fighting about Peterson’s return, that doesn’t seem to be true.
