Ryan Tannehill’s day started by getting sacked by Ndamukong Suh, and could have ended by getting sacked by Ndamukong Suh. The Miami Dolphins quarterback was smacked in the third quarter, going down hard and injuring his ankle on the play. He returned later in the game.
You can watch the play below:
Tannehill has been playing the best football of his career the past few weeks. A lot of that has to do with his offensive line stepping up, but with both Daryn College and Brandon Albert (who was injured in the first half) out, his protection suffered Sunday.
Tannehill returned to throw a touchdown on a swing pass to Mike Wallace for the go-ahead touchdown later in the third quarter. He has completed 19 of 26 passes for 145 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He’s been sacked twice, both times by Suh. Tannehill will likely have to carry his offense if the Dolphins are going to win, since this Lions defensive front has held the Dolphins to just 20 yards rushing on 13 attempts thus far.
