Steelers vs Jets Final Score: New York Stops Surging Pittsburgh, 20-13
By Jack Crosby
The Pittsburgh Steelers, who have been on a roll as of late, were stopped in their tracks by the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.
Winning four of their last five games, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL headed into their Sunday match up with the New York Jets, a game which should have been a walk in the park, considering the Jets entered the game at just 1-8 on the season.
Well this one was anything but a walk in the park for the Steelers, as they were upset on the road by the Jets on Sunday, 20-13.
Ben Roethlisberger threw 12 touchdown passes in his last two outings, but against the New York defense on Sunday, he only managed one, and that one came late in the game as the Steelers tried to mount the comeback. Big Ben hit rookie Martavis Bryant on an 80-yard scoring strike with 1:16 to go in the game.
As for the Jets, they ended an eight-game losing streak and took a small amount of the heat off head coach Rex Ryan, at least for one week. Michael Vick was instrumental in helping the Jets get the win in this one, finishing 10-of-18 for 132 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also added in 39 yards on the ground on eight carries.
With the loss, the Steelers’ record drops to 6-4 and they’ll look to get back on track next Monday against the Tennessee Titans. The Jets improve to 2-8 on the year as they head into a much-needed bye. They’ll return to action on Nov. 23 against the Buffalo Bills.
