Tennessee Titans Counting On Super Bowl Berth In Two Years
By Josh Sanchez
If Tennessee Titans president and CEO Tommy Smith gets his way, the Titans will become a playoff team next season before reaching the Super Bowl the following year.
The Tennessee Titans are just 2-6 this season and continue to watch the Indianapolis Colts dominate the AFC South, but team president and CEO Tommy Smith sees a much brighter future for Tennessee than those on the outside.

When speaking about the Tennessee Titans’ growing frustrations, Smith expressed his belief that the team could drastically improve in the coming years.
Not only does Smith envision the Titans in the playoffs next season, but he sees a Super Bowl berth following the 2016 season.
“I am frustrated, and I do get angry. I expect more,” Smith told Tthe Tennessean.
“I am not in this business to have a top 10 pick,” said Smith. “We are looking for playoff games and Super Bowl. I hope we can start to win more games this season and start off next year and have a good season. I think a realistic expectation is to be in the Super Bowl in 2017. People may be disappointed and say, ‘What is Smith talking about 2017 for?’ Well, I have to have realistic expectations.
“If we could win out this year that would be good, if we can get to the playoffs it would be a gift from God. But next year I am counting on getting in the playoffs, and the next year I am planning on taking it to the next level, and getting back to the Super Bowl.”
Those may be some optimistic views on what the Tennessee Titans can achieve, but you want to have a guy at the top of the organization who believes it is possible.
The task for Smith will be getting his players and coaches to believe they are two years away from a Super Bowl, while making sure the team has the necessary talent on the field to reach those lofty goals.
