San Francisco 49ers‘ defensive tackle Ray McDonald will not be charged with domestic violence, and will continue NFL action without any other issues from the case.

The San Francisco 49ers were mentioned quite a bit in off-the-field issues earlier this season, and defensive tackle Ray McDonald was one of the names that came up. McDonald was accused of domestic violence, and many expected to see him receive a suspension due to everything that the NFL had been dealing with, such as the Ray Rice saga, but that didn’t end up being the case.

Now that the case has been investigated further, it doesn’t appear that he will be seeing any type of reprimand for the accusations that came out earlier in the year.

According to a report from Rand Getlin of Yahoo, McDonald will not face any charges due to a lack of evidence. It’s definitely good news for the 49ers and McDonald, but it still leaves quite a few question marks surrounding the entire situation. That being said, McDonald will continue moving forward with San Francisco and making a difference on the field for their defense.

One can only hope that this isn’t letting a man who was guilty go free, and that he’ll stay out of further off-the-field problems. It’s always concerning to hear reports about a man laying his hands on a woman, and the NFL hasn’t heard the last of players getting into domestic violence issues.

McDonald can now focus on playing football without any other legal distractions. The 49ers stuck with him and allowed him to play through the entire situation. Now, the 49ers will be getting a player who has no more distractions and can focus on helping the team make a run at the playoffs.
