are still very alive in the NFC South race, especially after the

New Orleans Saints

fell to the

San Francisco 49ers

27-24 in overtime Sunday.

However, if they plan on getting back to the playoffs and making some noise, they’re going to have to play much better.

That doesn’t look like it will be the case, at least not in the early going in their Monday Night Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles. On the second play of the game, DeAngelo Williams fumbled and the Eagles recovered, leading to a Cody Parkey field goal. On the Panthers’ next offensive play, Cam Newton was intercepted by Eagles’ defensive back Cary Williams.
