The Chicago Bears were embarrassed for the second straight game as they gave up a franchise record 42 points in the first half en route to a loss to the rival Green Bay Packers but there will not be any coaches fired as a scapegoat

Marc Trestman will not be making any changes to his coaching staff despite the Bears giving up more than 50 point for the second game in a row and setting the franchise record for first half points allowed for the second week in a row after they lost 55-14 to the Packers.

Before the game was even over the Internet was full of upset, disappointed and embarrassed Bears fans calling for Trestman’s head on a platter after the worst first half imaginable was underway against their hated rivals on national television after they had an extra week to prepare for the game.

After allowing 55 points and six passing touchdowns to Aaron Rodgers one game after Tom Brady went 30-35 with five touchdowns and scored 51 in the loss to the Patriots three weeks ago, it would be logical to wonder if defensive coordinator Mel Tucker should start looking at the want ads and find a new source of employment.

Trestman there will not be any coaching changes, at least not any at this time.

Tucker was on the hot seat last year after the Bears finished with the worst run defense in franchise history and missed the playoffs. After an offseason of adding free agent reinforcements and their first three picks in the 2014 NFL draft spend on upgrading the defense, the defense is still a mess, but Tucker will continue cashing checks.

Meanwhile, the Bears are 3-6 and their season with losses in five of their last six games and no signs of improvement with an overmatched head coach tied to an overpaid and underperforming quarterback in Jay Cutler for the next two seasons and an incompetent defensive coordinator.

At least the Chicago Blackhawks offer some hope for fans in Chicago.
