The Chicago Bulls will welcome the return of Derrick Rose to the lineup Monday night when they take on the Detroit Pistons.
After sitting out the Chicago Bulls’ loss to the Boston Celtics Saturday with sprained ankles, Derrick Rose will play Monday night against the Detroit Pistons.

Rose has missed four of the last five games, and Chicago has been hard pressed to find consistent production from the point guard spot. Kirk Heinrich, who started in place of Rose, missed all seven of his shots against the Celtics.
Rose was hurt against the Cleveland Cavaliers on opening night. He missed two games after that, played against the Brooklyn Nets and then missed two more before participating in Monday shoot around.
According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Rose will be on a minutes restriction. However, Tom Thibodeau has no reservations about playing the former MVP.
“When he’s healthy, he’s got to play. It’s really that simple,” Thibodeau said. “He’s dealing with sprained ankles. The rest of his body is good. When he’s ready to go, he goes. That would be the same for anybody. Sprained ankles are part of it. Just work your way through it.”
The time to take it slow with Rose is over. He’s recovered from his knee injury and now he is dealing with sprained ankles. I’m no doctor, but I think that has more to do with Rose not being in game shape than it does his durability. Rose needs to be on the court when healthy, and that’s exactly what the Bulls are going to do.
