Chris Simms was working for the New England Patriots not to long ago but now he is trashing their quarterback, claiming that he is not the best or even in the top five of the NFL.
Peter King had Simms talk on his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback, saying he wanted him because he was blunt with his opinions. Well Peter, you got your wish.
“I hate how everybody just says Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are the best two quarterbacks in football. They’re not. Are they gonna be 65 years old and we’ll all be saying, “Brady and Manning are still the best?” Tom Brady’s not in my top five. I mean, he’s still really good, but I like other guys better. I’d go Aaron Rodgers one, Andrew Luck two, Ben Roethlisberger three, Russell Wilson four and Peyton five.”
Woah. These are all great quarterbacks, do not get me wrong, but I would not take Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck over Tom Brady if I were to start my own team from scratch. They have the age advantage, but Brady has three rings and in my opinion, is one of the greatest of all time. Roethlisberger could have a case made for him but if I was forced to choose, Brady would be my guy.
It’s not like Brady is having a bad year either, he has 22 touchdowns to three interceptions and the Patriots are currently on a five game winning streak.
