Maryland WR Stefon Diggs Out With Lacerated Kidney
By Phil Watson
Maryland is 6-3 and already bowl eligible, but they may have to make it through their final three regular season games without star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been ruled out through the rest of the regular season due to a lacerated kidney, according to a report.
The Baltimore Sun reported Monday that Diggs sustained the injury against Penn State on Nov. 1, when he took a shot to the kidney area while diving and stretching out in the end zone after a catch.

Diggs returned to the game and nearly scored on Maryland’s next series, he was noticeably in pain after the game.
He wouldn’t have played Saturday against Michigan State regardless; he had been suspended for one game by the Big Ten for his role in the pre-game handshake dustup at Penn State.
Diggs, a junior, has 52 catches for 654 yards and five touchdowns this season and has 140 receptions for 2,089 yards and 14 scores in his career.
He is also a primary kick returner for the Terrapins, averaging 23.9 yards on 20 returns this season.
Diggs is second in the Big Ten in receptions per game and fifth in receiving yards per contest.
Maryland goes to Michigan on Nov. 22 and finishes the regular season at home against Rutgers on Nov. 29.
This would be the second consecutive year that Diggs’ season was cut short due to injury; he played in only seven games in 2013 before going down with a broken leg.
