Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace once again expressed frustration with the offense’s inability to make big plays.

Once again, the Miami Dolphins are left with a boatload of regret after the team’s last-minute loss to the Detroit Lions. Once again, receiver Mike Wallace’s patience with the dink-and-dunk Dolphins offense has put his quotes in the headlines as the team falls to 5-4 with a matchup against rival Buffalo looming on Thursday.

“It’s the same thing I tell you every week,” Wallace said, per ESPN. “We have to find our balance, man. We can’t keep doing this on offense. We can’t be up and down to be the team that we want to be. We have to be able to finish football games. Our defense played great once again.”

The Dolphins defense bottled up Calvin Johnson and the Lions for most of the day after Johnson’s long TD in the first quarter. The team had the lead for most of the game until Matthew Stafford found Theo Riddick in the end zone with 29 seconds remaining. The offense had no answer and the Fins fell once more.

“[The Lions] are going to score points. They have Calvin Johnson and it’s going to happen,” Wallace continued. “I feel like they did a great job on defense. We had a chance to kill the game and we didn’t do it again on our end on offense.”

The Dolphins host the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night in matchup of 5-4 teams in the AFC East. They will look to avenge an early season loss at Buffalo and gain control of second place in the division. To do so, the team will need all it can get from the passing game. Whether or not they get it is a different story.
