Panthers Vs Eagles Final Score: Eagles Rout Panthers, 45-21
By Hayden Kane
The Philadelphia Eagles cruised to an easy victory over the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football, winning 45-21 at home to close out the week 10 NFL schedule.
There were a number of people who believed that Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez were roughly the same level of quarterback entering the 2014 season. Monday’s week 10 game between the Panthers and Eagles may or may not have told us much of anything in that regard, but Sanchez was successful enough to key an easy blowout victory for the Eagles by a final score of 45-21.

The Eagles continued what they have done all season in this game. They did not just win with their fast-paced, no-huddle offense. They won with impact plays on special teams and opportunistic plays from their defense as well. This rout was a total team effort in which they overwhelmed the Panthers every way you can imagine in every phase of the game.
There was a lot of intrigue entering this game about how Sanchez would play in his opportunity as a starter. He played well, throwing for 332 yards and a couple scores, but that only begins to tell the story of the Eagles’ dominance.
There was a punt return for a touchdown from Darren Sproles:
There was a pick-6 from the defense:
And yes, in between there were some nice throws from Sanchez, two for touchdowns, including this one:
Things got so gruesome in this game that Matt Barkley played and attempted a pass. Yes, that Matt Barkley.
As for the Panthers, maybe Cam Newton is hurt. He certainly didn’t look right in this game as he threw for a misleading 306 yards, three interceptions, and a couple garbage-time touchdowns to the super-talented Kelvin Benjamin.
Maybe it is the lack of help around Newton. Maybe it is the flailing defense that looks nothing like the dominant unit of a year ago. Whatever the explanation, the Panthers are a mess, joining their fellow lousy teams in the pillow fight that is in the NFC South.
The Eagles figured they could roll with Mark Sanchez if they had to this season. Now they know they can, something they will do as they enter the teeth of their schedule in hopes of another NFC East title.
