Eric Hart wanted to give his infant son something to make him feel brave while he fights for his life in the hospital, so he built a custom Iron Man suit for him.
Collier Hart has spent his entire young life in the hospital. Being born premature, all of his time has been spent in the neonatal intensive care unit.

As you can imagine, this is particularly hard on not just his family, but the little man himself.
While he may not have the faculties to express his emotions (other than you usually baby’s cry), we are sure that somewhere inside of him he has an opinion and some sort of idea what is going on around him.
His father Eric realized this, and decided that he wanted to do something special for his son that would make him “feel brave” during his struggle to grow like everyone else.
With Halloween quickly approaching, Hart had an idea that he felt would be perfect for his son’s situation. The elder Hart told Today that he believed his son and Iron Man had a lot in common.
"“I came up with Iron Man because he’s been hooked up to all those machines and wires, and that’s similar to what Iron Man went through,” – Today.com"
It turns out that Eric Hart is a professional prop maker, so this idea was right up his alley, and something that he could do easily and properly on his own.
He decided to make a video, which has quickly made its way around the internet, that chronicles his son’s journey, the creation of the costume, and a quick glimpse of little Collier in the masterpiece.
In addition to providing a gateway for others to share their stories, it will provide Collier with something he can look back on when he is older and show him just how amazing he looked as a superhero.
Considering what Collier is going through right now, and potentially will have to endure later in his life, he is quite the little superhero in his own right.
We don’t know about you, but we certainly wish this little superhero the best and hope that he gains the strength he needs to come home with his family. Also, big props go out to Dad for making time in your already incredibly busy day to do something to make your son happy; even if only for a moment.
