The NFL season is over halfway complete, and the races for various postseason awards are becoming clear.

With the NFL season now over halfway complete for all teams, the races for the annual awards have begun to take shape. It is time to begin watching the battles for each of the NFL awards closely each week.

Early in the season, San Diego quarterback Phillip Rivers looked like he might run away with the MVP award this season. He’s fallen back to Earth recently, and fallen right out of the race. Instead, the race right now is full of familiar faces who are accustomed to being near the top of the list for the league’s most valuable player.

The race for Offensive Rookie of the Year has been similar. The early season frontrunner hasn’t been able to maintain their success, and has been passed by someone who plays the same position.

A couple of the races seem all but locked at at this point. Only a complete collapse by a current division leader would open the door for a new leader for Coach of the Year. Defensive Play of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year also appear to have leaders who are way out in front of the pack.
