By Gerald Tracy
The Carolina Panthers‘ star quarterback Cam Newton admitted in a press conference something that most won’t, that he is hurt.

After being sacked nine times in a Monday night 45-21 loss against the Eagles, it’s no surprise that Cam Newton is hurt. In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the entire Panther organization was hurt by the 3-6-1 start. Although Panthers coach Ron Rivera is insisting that Newton is not hurt, saying, “I’m not sure where all that came from, but he’s not injured,”
Newton came out and said the basically the complete opposite.
"“Hurt is hurt. If you’re asking me, am I hurt right now? Yeah, I’m hurt. I haven’t, you know, felt 100 percent in a long time.”“You ask me a question, is Cam Newton hurt? Yes, I’m hurt. And that’s all honesty. But can I play? Yes, I can play and I will be playing. It’s mind over matter.”"
Technically they both could be right. While Newton really is hurt, he probably isn’t hurt enough to sit out any time and let Derek Anderson take the play calling duties but he probably is hurt enough to notice, as most are at this time of the season.
Here is a video with what Newton had to say at the presser.
The Panthers need Newton to be healthy if they want to win as they haven’t won since week five against the Bears and are 0-4-1 since. They play Atlanta Sunday at noon and the offensive line will look to keep their quarterback up so he doesn’t keep getting hurt, or actually end up injured since he is supposedly nursing foot, ankle and rib injuries at the moment.
