Many Chicago Bears fans and Twitter users were fooled today thinking that quarterback Jay Cutler actually blamed the punter for their loss on Sunday night to the Green Bay Packers
When your NFL franchise stinks as bad as the Chicago Bears do right now, you’ll believe just about any negative thing written or said about that team these days. When it gets published in The Onion, apparently it sends off a tidal wave of Twitter negativity.

The Chicago Bears lost big time on Sunday night to the Green Bay Packers 55-14. The Bears have given up 106 points in their last two games. They had two week to prepare for the Packers after their bye. It is the most ever given up by an NFL team in a two-game stretch.
Cutler threw for 272 yards on Sunday night but also threw two interceptions. He almost had a third that would have been most likely returned for a pick-six. They lost a fumble and had 42 points scored on them in the first half. So, The Onion was looking to have some fun with it. They had quarterback Jay Cutler blame punter Pat O’Donnell for the loss. Classic.
Problem is, many believed it. At this point in internet history, how do people still take The Onion for fact? They do. I see it every day. Sports, news, entertainment, and political stories. All of them. People take everything for face value without actually noticing what they are reading. However there are people that do notice and still think it’s real. Truly amazing.
Here are some reactions I found on Twitter. Some are classic. You have to love Bears fans.
