Cotton Bowl Releases Boring Patch With New Sponsor (Photo)

The Cotton Bowl Classic, now sponsored by Goodyear, released its new jersey patch for the Jan. 1 game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and it’s a snoozer.
The Cotton Bowl Classic, once again a major bowl under the new college football world order of the College Football Playoff, released its new logo with its new title sponsor, Goodyear, on Wednesday.
Warning: You should be seated for this.
So why did you need to be seated for that? If you fell asleep looking at a logo that elicits such a “meh” response, we didn’t want it to be our fault, that’s why.
Of course, is it really so much different than the old corporate logo?
In all fairness, though, once you’ve had the Poulan Weed Eater Independence Bowl, everything else sort of pales in comparison.

It’s a big year for the Cotton Bowl, which is back among the major bowls after being left out of the old Bowl Championship Series in favor of the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fie$ta bowls.
It’s still called the Cotton Bowl, even though it hasn’t been played at the actual Cotton Bowl in Dallas since 2009.
The Cotton Bowl now hosts the Heart of Dallas Bowl. A&T Stadium in Arlington now hosts the Cotton Bowl.
Nah, there’s nothing at all about this that is in any way, shape or form confusing.
