I am going to give you this weeks top 5 QB pickups off the waiver wire.

With the Cowboys, Ravens, Jaguars and Jets all on bye this week, as well as some quarterbacks injured, these players should find themselves in your lineup this week.

1. Mark Sanchez, Philadelphia Eagles (Owned in 42% of Yahoo! leagues) – Yes Jets fans, it’s your worst nightmare! Mark Sanchez is relevant again. The former Jets “Sanchize” quarterback shined in his first start in Chip Kelly’s high octane offense. Sanchez went 20/37 for 332 yards with 2 TDS and 0 INT. This was the 9th 300yd game for Sanchez, the first in which he did not throw an interception. Sanchez is going to be a good replacement for Nick Foles, and will continue to air it out with Kelly calling the shots. Sanchez goes to Lambeau this week. Following that, the Eagles will be home to Tennessee, at Dallas, home to Seattle and home to Dallas. Sanchez seems comfortable in this offense, and I think he will continue to play well in it. He has an offense minded coach guiding him and it helps when you players like Shady McCoy and Jeremy Maclin in the huddle. Make room for Sanchez on your squad!

2. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins (Owned in 45% of Yahoo! leagues) – Robert Griffin III looked good in his return week 9 at Minnesota from his ankle dislocation injury. He went 18/28 for 251 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. He also added 7 rushes for 24 yards. After a bye week, Griffin looks to get back to fantasy relevance as he has a hearty matchup against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has given up the 5th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Owners have been burned by Griffin in the past. His open field scrambles give owners and fans alike heart palpations, so buyer beware. Going forward, he will be a high risk/reward QB.

3. Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings (Owned in 7% of Yahoo! leagues) – Teddy Bridgewater leads the Vikings into Chicago looking for a 3rd straight win and trying to get back to .500. Bridgewater’s last two games have been solid. That should continue this week as Bridgewater has a great matchup with a Chicago defense has given up the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. The Bears pass defense has given up at least one passing TD in each game this season. They have also given up at least 250yd passing in 7 straight games. If your looking to cash in on the Bears woes, Bridgewater is a good option. Looking past the Bears, Bridgewater and the Vikings have 3 straight games at home against the Packers, Panthers and Jets.

4. Josh McCown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Owned in 14% of Yahoo! leagues) – McCown had himself a great game vs. Atlanta in week 10. With the Buccaneers running game in flux, McCown went 27/43 for 301 yards with 2 TD and 2 INT. McCown has a favorable matchup this week as the Buccaneers travel to Washington to face a Redskins defense that has as given up the 3rd most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Following the Redskins game, McCown will travel to Chicago. If you are a manager who is average at the QB position and likes to play the matchup game, McCown will be your guy for the next couple of weeks.

5. Kyle Orton, Buffalo Bills (Owned in 15% of Yahoo! leagues) – The 31 year old veteran has played well since becoming the Bills starter in Week 5. He has put solid fantasy numbers against the likes of Detroit, Minnesota and Kansas City, all of whom rank as top tier teams for giving up the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Orton faces another challenge this week as the Bills go into South Florida to face the Dolphins. Orton has thrown for at least 238 yards in every game, and has thrown at least one TD in each of his starts. He has thrown multiple TD’s in 3 of his 5 starts. Following the trip to Miami, the Bills will host the Jets and Browns back to back. In case you forgot, Orton threw 4 TDs against the Jets in Week 8. He should be a player that will continue to produce as the fantasy playoffs inch closer.
