Florida State Seminoles’ quarterback Jameis Winston had his Code of Conduct hearing set for November 17 back on November 4.

Winston’s attorney, David Cromwell, sent a letter to the school asking for the postponement of the hearing. After a conference call on Wednesday, the hearing was officially delayed until December 1.

According to Rachel Axon of the USA Today, Florida State has postponed the hearing until December 1.

"A Florida State investigative hearing into whether an alleged sexual assault involving quarterback Jameis Winston violated the student conduct code has been delayed to Dec. 1, a person involved in the process told USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday. The person requested anonymity because specifics of the hearing are to remain confidential."

The school will send a decision letter to Winston within 10 class days of the conclusion of the hearing. The last day of Florida State’s fall semester is December 12 and class does not resume for the spring semester until January 7. That means a decision likely won’t come down until after the College Football Playoff Committee makes their decision. In fact, if the decision isn’t made until closer to the last possible second, it could come down on January 13, which is the day after the National Championship Game.

Rather than have someone in the school preside over the hearing, Major Harding, a former Florida Supreme Court chief justice so he will decided if Winston violated any of four sanctions of the Conduct Code.

Both Winston and the woman who accused him of sexual assault have five class days to appeal whatever decision is made once it is handed down.

Winston and the Seminoles will return to the field on Saturday night when they travel to Miami to take on the Hurricanes  in what has been one of the college football‘s best rivalries (8:00 pm ET, ABC).
