There are certain things that are a given when you attend a hockey game. You’re going to get at minimum three 20-minute periods. You’re going to get a lot of noise. You’re going to see someone score, whether it is in regulation, overtime, or shootout. Oh, and there will be at least one fight.
For the Arizona Coyotes, the latter happened first and rather quickly. Just six seconds into the game, the two teams were tangoing.
Hockey games, Coyotes games in particular, are a family event. Many fans bring their kids. However, one mother at Tuesday night’s game would have none of it.
A mother, sitting near the glass nonetheless, shielded her daughter’s eyes when another fight broke out later in the first period. Why? What is the point of bringing your children if you’re going to do that?
I’m all for protecting our children. I have one young son at home. However, if you want to shield your kid from anything right now it might be just don’t bring them to an Arizona Coyotes game period right now. They aren’t very good. At times there is nothing entertaining about them.
Now, against the Dallas Stars though, that’s different. These two teams go at each other everytime they play. It is exciting whenever the two get together. It’s one of those you can throw the records out kind of deal. So, if you bring your kids to a hockey game, especially a Coyotes-Stars game, you should know what to expect.
