Report: Blake Griffin Charged With Battery For Nightclub Incident
By Hayden Kane
Los Angeles Clippers‘ forward Blake Griffin has reportedly been charged with battery after an incident in a nightclub last month.
Off the court, Blake Griffin is mostly known for a dry sense of humor and those ridiculous Kia commercials. Unfortunately for him, he has now created a situation for himself where he will be known for something else entirely.

A TMZ report provides the details of an incident in a nightclub last month. Griffin apparently got upset, lost it at a fellow patron, was physically violent with said patron for a moment, and now the forward is facing a battery charge. From the report:
"The incident went down last month when Blake was at Tao Nightclub. According to the alleged victim — Daniel Schuman — the Clippers superstar was upset by camera flashes in his face … so he grabbed Daniel’s phone and neck. Daniel says Blake squeezed his neck, and demanded he give up his phone. The Clark County D.A. has now charged Griffin with one count of misdemeanor battery. He faces 6 months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine — though a jail sentence is highly unlikely since Blake has no prior convictions for violent crimes."
So Griffin’s wallet will be a little lighter, he will face some bigger punishments if future incidents arise, and he won’t be viewed quite the same way by fans. As one of the emerging faces of the NBA, Griffin has surely disappointed a lot of people with these actions, minor though they might be in the eyes of others.
And there’s a lesson here for all of us: don’t try to sneak pictures of Blake Griffin when he’s out partying.
