Courtney Lee has had a pretty nice NBA career. After being drafted in the first round in 2008 Lee has been an important role player for four different organizations over his eight year career which has led to plenty of big shots and moments. Perhaps the lowest moment of his career came in Game 2 of the 2009 NBA Finals when Lee missed a wide open alley-oop at the buzzer that would have given the Orlando Magic a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Tonight Lee had a chance to redeem himself a bit and he came through.

The basket which came with 0.4 seconds left on the clock and the Grizzlies trailing by one, capped off a twenty-six point second half comeback for Memphis who are now 8-1 on the year.

The basket also wiped out an impressive close to the game for Kings star DeMarcus Cousins who just seconds earlier had drawn a foul on Marc Gasol and knocked down two free throws to put Memphis up one. The play concluded a great final minute for Cousins who came up with a block on Zach Randolph and a basket from the post before the drive to keep Sacramento ahead.

Ultimately though it wasn’t enough as Lee finally made the layup he could have used years ago. It probably won’t make everything all better for Lee but it should help exercise some pain, which is a nice thing for a fun player.
