Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose recently said he thinks about his long-term health when making decisions on whether to play in games or not.
This upset many fans who believe the Bulls star should be doing all he can to help his team right now instead of thinking about 20 years down the road.
Rose responded to his critics on Thursday, saying he doesn’t care about them.
From NBC Chicago:
"When asked if he understood why people were upset by his remarks, Rose responded with a simple, “No.”“But I could care less,” he said."
Rose also did not back down one bit from the controversial comments.
"“Really, I was just being myself,” he said. “As long as I’m being myself, that’s the only person I can be, and that’s about it. But as far as saying anything, blame me for thinking about the future, I’ll probably think different, but that’s all I was doing.”"
These latest comments aren’t going to quiet the critics that are upset with him. But there’s no reason for Rose to back off his comments.
Rose understandably values his long-term health and wants to be careful with his body and it’s not his fault that some fans can’t understand that.
Rose has missed four of the Bulls’ eight games this year.
