Two low-level criminals were out trying to ruin the hopes of some Alabama fans, but their plan went wrong and now they’re in trouble.

One of the hottest tickets in the college football world this weekend is for the battle in Tuscaloosa between the No. 1 Mississippi State Bulldogs and the No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide. However, when tickets are as hot as these, the crooks like to come out and see if they can get one-up on someone and walk away with some easy cash.

One husband and wife tandem in Tuscaloosa, Shannon and Heather Sizemore, thought it would be a bright idea to see if they could rip someone off in anticipation of the big game on Saturday, and it quickly went wrong.

They had sold a pair of tickets to an Alabama fan, however, the Tide supporter quickly noticed that the bar codes on the tickets were the same and notified the police. Not long after that, they had the two crooks in custody.

Via Fox 6 in Alabama:

"The victim asked a friend to contact the suspects and ask to buy more tickets. The man also called police about his suspicions. So when the friend met up with the Sizemores to make the deal in Cottondale on Wednesday, Tuscaloosa police took them into custody.Officers made the arrest around 11 a.m. and were seen going through the suspects’ vehicle. Officers found 16 counterfeit tickets."

It’s truly sad that people like this exist in the world, but unfortunately, they do. Hopefully the Alabama fan that was ripped off, and anyone else that fell for the scam, can get their money back somehow.
