Los Angeles Lakers guard Ronnie Price was suspended for one NBA game because of a dirty foul on Pelicans’ guard Austin Rivers, and he deserves it.

With 9:11 left in the fourth quarter, New Orleans Pelicans guard Austin Rivers elevated for a layup when the forearm of Lakers point guard Ronnie Price slammed into the side of his head. It turns out you can’t do that.

Price was ejected from the game and charged with a flagrant foul 2. The Lakers lost 109-102, either because they suck or because of karma.

You can watch the video of the hit below:

Price will sit out when the Lakers host the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, Nov. 14, according to a release on the NBA’s website.

"Los Angeles Lakers guard Ronnie Price has been suspended one game without pay for hitting New Orleans Pelicans guard Austin Rivers on the side of the head with his right forearm as Rivers elevated for a layup, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations."

This was a dirty foul and quite clearly the right call. It’s a good thing Rivers is okay, because that means we can point out the comedy in this play. After getting sent to the wood because an elbow landed on his face, Rivers was looking for a helping hand. There was Price, who may have realized that his competitiveness got the better of him, offering to help him up. Then Rivers gave him this death-laser glare that said “we are not friends.” Great look, Rivers. The league’s got your back.
