The Memphis Tigers basketball team lost to Division II Christian Brothers University in basketball last night 74-70.

The Memphis Tigers are ranked just outside the top-25 and received double digit votes to get into the preseason top-25, but now it looks as if eventually getting in may be harder than they thought. Memphis took a 74-70 loss against Division II Christian Brothers University Wednesday night in an exhibition.

Christian Brothers University shot 45 percent overall in the game and went 3-for-5 in overtime to take the four point victory. They led Memphis most of the game, fell behind in the second half but was able to force overtime and take the win in OT.

Even if Memphis wanted to keep the loss hush hush, there’s no way due to such thing called Twitter.

Christian Brothers University, like other D-II and D-III opponents that play teams like Memphis in the preseason, are used to prepare the more skilled teams who have higher levels of skill. But this was not the case Wednesday night.

Christian Brothers forward Sidy Sall scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in his squad’s victory. Teammate Trey Casey added 19 while Memphis struggled to shoot 22 percent from three point range and 64 percent from the free throw line.
