Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard missed a wide open slam dunk last night when it bricked and popped 20 feet into the air.

Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard is superman and a very talented NBA center, but on Wednesday he had a super-miss on a wide open slam dunk in the post that was pretty embarrassing.

On a beautiful feed from James Harden into the post, Dwight Howard took one drop step and went for the two handed pull-up slam that was once coined by Shaquille O’Neal, but instead of going in, the ball launched off the back iron and at least 20-30 feet into the air, confusing all of the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves players in sight.

Here’s the photo of Dwight Howard laughing it off after the miss.

The Houston Rockets took the win despite the Howard dunk miss 113-101 over the Timberwolves, improving their overall record to 7-1, tied for the best in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies.

Dwight Howard was impressive with 22 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. He’s averaging a double-double this season so far with 20 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
