Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler isn’t pleasing a lot of fans at the moment. After starting the season 2-1, the Bears have gone on a 1-5 run that has them at the bottom of the standings.
During that six game stretch, Cutler has thrown eight interceptions. The lone game that he hasn’t thrown an interception in was the game they won.
As fans tend to overreact by destructing property, like burning cars after a championship win, Bears fans are contemplating burning Cutler’s jersey. He doesn’t care if you do.
From the Associated Press:
"If fans want to burn his jersey, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has no problem with that. He all but dared them to do it again, actually.“It’s not the first time,” he said."
Given the price of jerseys these days, burning one to express your anger with a quarterback, or any player for that matter, seems a bit extreme. Especially if it isn’t a situation regarding a player leaving for good, like LeBron James leaving the Miami Heat. You know James isn’t coming back.
But what happens if Cutler leads the Bears on a win streak, this season or next.
Well now you’re out hundreds of dollars and have to go buy another one to jump on the bandwagon after burning the last one.
