LeBron James Teaches Social Media At Fenway Park Then Takes Selfie With Dr. Dre

The Cleveland Cavaliers face the Boston Celtics tonight but LeBron James decided to fly in a day earlier. Why? So he could teach people how to use social media to build a brand.

That’s right, LeBron spoke at Fenway about how to use Twitter. From the Associated Press:

"Speaking to business leaders at the home of the Boston Red Sox, James said his goal is to remain authentic, whether it’s in his business relationships or his interactions with fans. The two-time NBA champion said he won’t endorse a product unless he likes it, and he won’t speak out on an issue unless he means it.“The people, the consumer, they know what’s real and what’s fake,” said James, whose Cavaliers were in town for Friday night’s game against the Boston Celtics. “You cannot shortcut, you cannot cheat, because they will know.”"

LeBron also touched on how everything he does is over examined because of social media. No other athlete in his position every had to deal with it. From BosInno:

"I may be the only athlete today that’s scrutinized as much as I am. Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan a little bit as well, but they didn’t have to deal with social media. So it magnifies me, for sure."

After all of this talk about the LeBron James brand, what did James do to promote himself? He took a selfie with Dr. Dre while wearing Red Sox Beats By Dre headphones.

"This was the start of it all Dre! Look how far we’ve come in such a short time Jimmy, @mavcarter, PW, and Luke. Now keep going higher and higher and higher. S/O my brothers @pr_again @omarantoniosworld with the @beatsbydre family as well. #RWTW #EitherRollWithUSOrGetRolledOver #Beats #StriveForGreatness"

A great player and a great brand. LeBron is truly the King.
